ABOUT JA'UAN DAVIDSON
Born in Angleton, Texas, Ja'uan Davidson is an artist, creative director, artistic director, fashion designer, musician, and philanthropist.
Fascinated with fashion models and runways l've always looked at myself as very different especially when it comes to how I dress in addition to my taste and views in the fashion world and art. I've always seen myself as wanting to model for brands such as Marc Jacob's, RAF Simmons, Saint Laurent, YEEZY, H.B.A etc.
I've never really wanted to own a fashion label or to be a CEO of any kind. I just wanted to be able to walk down a runway and be in magazines along with look-books. But as a kid I couldn't afford those type of clothes, so as I gotten older my outlook on owning a clothing brand has changed. I've decided that owning a clothing brand I can make the clothes that I want and envision in my head just like the brands I liked growing up. Even watching some of my favorite musicians come out with their own clothing brands also inspired me to come out with my own. Virgil abloh is another fashion designer I looked up to while the time he was alive to the time he passed, he was like the mentor I never had, if I wanted
anyone to mentor me it would definitely have to be Virgil especially with him being a black man. He broke so many barriers with his 3% rule on his outlook thus combining luxury and streetwear culture.
He was one of the few fashion designers that inspired me to create a brand that could one day be better than off-white.
That's what he wanted, that's why he made his clothes so expensive so that the youth can go out and create their own brand that's better than off-white. One Day I would love to see my name up there next to the greats like Kanye west, Matthew Williams, Rick Owens, RAF Simon's, and Steven Barter along with Jeff Jean Jacques. These guys inspired me to do what I'm doing at this moment and that is to influence and communicate with the world through the way I construct fashion.
